India Passport Photo Requirements

- Common official guidance uses 630 x 810 px for online upload.
- Background
- Plain white background with even lighting and no shadows.
- Position and expression
- Full head from top of hair to bottom of chin should be visible; face should be centered, frontal, neutral, and occupy most of the frame.
- File or print note
- Use a recent color photo with the required pixel dimensions and a file size accepted by the Passport Seva or mission upload flow.

Paper forms take a colour photo of 4.5 cm × 3.5 cm on a plain white background, printed on good-quality photo paper; computer printouts are not accepted. When an online form caps the file size, compress your photo to the limit it states.
